violinists at an intermediate level (Grades 4-7).
The pieces in this collection cover a wide range of styles, from swing to
contemporary, and draw influence from some of the greatest jazz musicians of
all time, including Frank Sinatra, Bill Evans, Vince Mendozaand Diana Krall.
While paying homage to American Christmas jazz, Violin Jazz on a Winter’s
Night also reflects a European tradition and includes stylish, swinging
arrangements of time-honoured classics such as In The BleakMid-Winter.
Rhythm, embellishment, grooves and solos are all carefully notated and the
expertise of the arranger, a celebrated jazz musician and composer, guarantees
an authentic jazz sound.
