Originally composed for three wind instruments, these popular piano
transcriptions were first published in the early 1800s. Easier than Mozart’s
piano sonatas, they remain favorite teaching pieces and are beautiful examples
of the composer’s mature classical style. Unlike other editions, this
carefully edited volume restores Mozart’s articulation markings and the
original pairing of several menuet and trio movements that were previously
mismatched. A discussion of Mozart’s ornamentation and articulation is also
included.
